There's a Level HIGHER than our Comfort Zone: LEVEL UP TO REACH IT!

Have you ever felt like you were just settling in your life for what you deemed to be good enough, but not too good?? I have been thinking a lot lately about times in my life where I confidently charged forward making bold decisions or going all in towards accomplishing a major goal vs. the times that I haven't.
What keep us from achieving our best? What happens or doesn't happen that contributes to complacency? Is it the fear of failure? Or the fear of what other people might think? Are you suffering from Imposter Syndrome!? (It's a thing! Google it.)
One conclusion I've come to is that I fear striking just the right balance in my life. It's a tricky balance to be a wife, mom, entrepreneur and athlete, along with the many sub-roles that go along with those. Let me know if you can relate to this: I often find myself juggling my time, energy and resources by doing "just enough" in the different areas of my life in an effort to not disrupt the current level of balance I am experiencing.
Here's where my thought process goes to the next level! If I put any amount of extra effort BEYOND my comfort zone into these things, then I will GROW and positive changes will happen! Amazing. Right?
I tested this with my workout the other day. I decided to intentionally feel every single rep that I was asking my muscles to do and to push hard enough that I was uncomfortable. That level of muscle contraction or burn where you think, can I do another one or is it actually impossible? I used visualization and closed my eyes to feel the muscle lift the weight. About halfway though my workout, I realized, I haven't been pushing myself nearly enough! I had become comfortable with the same favorite exercises with a similar weight than last time and counting all of my reps, stopping between 10-15 regardless of whether I needed to or not. I was still getting a great workout, don't get me wrong, but I was mostly maintaining the level I was at. After the workout, I can honestly say that I was SO sore for 4 days! And it felt really, really great!
Here's my challenge to you. Find one area in your life that you want to make even better and actually do it. As a parent you could be more involved in a conversation with your child. If you are an employee you could perform your job even better (faster, more productive, whatever). Think of a close friend, reach out more often or do something nice for them. What area in your life can you elevate to the next level?
Decide what you will do and I would love to hear about it in the comments below!
